It is one of the most popular alcoholic beverages in the world, and its price varies depending on the type and age. And we are not talking about a simple drink, whiskey has a history. The Scottish company "The Macallan" has a collection considered one of the best in the world, "luxury in a liquid state." The most expensive bottle costs 36,000 euros, and only 38 pieces of this special drink exist since it was created in 1926.
The special edition of Chivas, from Blended, consists of only 225 bottles, which were created for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, and costs 7,450 euros.
In Scotland, and at almost 2,000 euros per bottle, we find two types of very high quality whiskey; Bruichladdich's, full of nuances, and Highlands, which stands out for its deep network of flavors, as well as its unmistakable aroma.
Who doesn't know Chivas or Cardhu? Chivas Regal 12 years old, one of the most enjoyed pleasures by the good drinker and one of the oldest in Scotland. Cardhu, a great single malt Scotch whiskey, with a unique flavor.
And for ordinary people, two more than well-known brands, and that, for a much more affordable price, we can taste while still drinking a good whiskey. The famous Johnnie Walker, which although it has models for up to 4,000 euros per bottle, can be found for a modest price in its black label version. And if one is more demanding, the green label is one of its most exquisite options.
Jack Daniel's, in its sigle-barrel edition, presents us with a whiskey with a more intense and richer flavor than its traditional version.
No one can doubt that good whiskey should be drunk only with ice, but not only that, many other things must be taken into account to taste a high-quality whiskey. The glass. No stem glass, a good wide, low glass is ideal for drinking whiskey with two or three ice cubes, no more. And we must not forget the presentation, first the ice is served and then the whiskey is poured slowly and never exceeding half a glass. And your whiskey will be… ready to drink!
